Yosemite Village Post Office Architecture
in
Yosemite

Designed by architect Herbert Maier, who also designed the Museum, the Post Office was completed in 1925.

This building is the first in this tour of a trio of buildings that possess a very similar aesthetic. Along with the Museum and Park Administration Building, these three constructions are all two-story buildings with a stone lower story and overhanging frame second story. Since its construction, the Post Office now has composition shingles on the exterior of the second story in lieu of the original wood shingle finish.
