Yosemite Administration Building Architecture
in
Yosemite

One of the first buildings constructed in the new village envisioned by Herbert Maier, Myron Hunt, and Thomas Vint, the Park Administration Building was constructed in 1924. Hunt is credited with the design of this particular building, which set the precedent for the similarly designed Post Office and Museum buildings.

Its stone first story and overhanging rustic frame second story reflect the granite canyon walls of the valley surmounted by the conifer forests above the rim.

The Administration Building is not open to public access.
