Tioga Road is normally closed from approximately November through May or June. Check road status.

Welcome to Yosemite National Park! Prepare to let your curiosity guide you to new places. Pick up a map and brochure as you enter your national park.

The park entrance fee can be paid upon arrival. Park passes can be purchased here, and park brochures may be available.

Entrance Fees

(valid for seven days with receipt)

  • Private vehicle: $35 (no per-person fee)
  • Motorcycle: $30 (no per-person fee)
  • Individual (walk-in, bicycle, horse, in a bus): $20 per person, aged 16 or older

Passes

  • Yosemite Pass: $70
    Valid for one year in Yosemite.
  • Interagency Annual Pass: $80
    Valid for one year at all federal recreation sites.
  • Interagency Senior Pass: $80
    (Lifetime) For U.S. citizens or permanent residents 62 and over.
  • Interagency Annual Senior Pass: $20
    For U.S. citizens or permanent residents 62 and over.
  • Interagency Access Pass (Free)
    (Lifetime) For permanently disabled U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
  • Interagency Military Pass (Free)
    (Annual) For active duty U.S. military and dependents.
  • Interagency 4th Grade Pass (Free)

Hours

Tioga Road is open to vehicles from late May or early June to sometime in October or November.

When Tioga Road is closed, it is not possible to drive to Tuolumne Meadows or enter Yosemite National Park from the east. All other park entrances, including those accessed via Highway 120 from the west, Hetch Hetchy, Highway 140, and Highway 41, remain open all year.

Getting Here

Located on Highway 120 East, about 13 miles from Lee Vining and 62 miles from Yosemite Valley.

Traffic Warnings

From spring through fall, you are likely to experience congestion in Yosemite Valley and at park entrances. Be prepared for delays, especially in afternoons and on weekends. Plan accordingly and use restrooms when available. It is best to arrive early in the morning or in the late afternoon to find parking and avoid traffic delays.
