Olmsted Point looks down on Yosemite Valley from the east - and from a very different angle. Though you might not immediately recognize Half Dome, it is one of the most prominent peaks you can see from Olmsted Point.
Olmsted Point was named after famed landscape architects, Frederick Law Olmsted (who was best known for his design of New York's Central Park) and his son, Frederick, Jr.

Tioga Road is open to vehicles from late May or early June to sometime in November.

Located along Tioga Road, a little less than 10 miles (16 km) west of Tuolumne Meadows.
Rules & Regulations
Tioga Road closes after the first significant snowfall. Overnight parking on this road ends October 15. For current road and weather information, please call 209/372-0200.
Hazards & Warnings
Bears and other wildlife may be present on or near park roads, please drive with caution.
Be aware of potential hazards on park roads, including wet and icy conditions or debris in the roadway, especially in the spring or fall.
Accessibility
There are designated accessible parking spaces available at both ends of the parking lot. There is also a bronze relief tactile model of the surrounding landscape.
