Bath Lake
in
Yellowstone
The large, barren depression was once the location of a rather large hot spring. In the late 1800s and early 1900s, visitors would bathe in the waters. It first went dry in 1926. After the Hebgen Lake Earthquake of 1959, the hot spring filled again. That lasted until 1984, when it dried up again and has remained dry since.
