Facing west-northwest from an elevation of 2,769 ft (843 m), the view from Dundo Overlook expands to the mountains in the distance. On the right side of the view is the southern end of Massanutten Mountain. This mountain range divides the Shenandoah Valley and splits the Shenandoah River, beginning in the town of Front Royal, Virginia at the northern end of the Park. Beyond the southern tip of Massanutten Mountain is the town of Harrisonburg.
