Doyles River Overlook
in
Shenandoah

Take in a view to the south from Doyles River Overlook. Sitting atop an elevation of 2,875 ft (876 m), the view here looks out to Browns Cove, nested beyond Little Flat Mountain and Cedar Mountain. Browns Cove is a small community named after the Brown family, long-time residents in the area. The first Brown in the area was Benjamin Brown, who acquired nearly 6,000 acres around Doyles River between 1747 and 1760. Mount Fair, the Brown's historic farm, still stands today with the main house, slave quarters, and two cemeteries.
