
Facing west from an elevation of 2,480 ft (755 m), the view from Calf Mountain Overlook is straight out over the town of Waynesboro, Virginia. Waynesboro is located on the western side of Jarman's Gap, one of the passageways through the Blue Ridge Mountains. The town was named after General Anthony Wayne in 1794 and officially recognized by the state of Virginia in 1801.
