Timed Entry Reservation Options: Park Access

Are you interested in taking a scenic drive over Trail Ridge Road, visiting the Kawuneeche Valley, or hiking at Wild Basin, Lily Lake, Longs Peak, or other outlying areas of Rocky Mountain National Park? Then this is the timed entry permit option for you!

Beginning on May 26 through October 22, Park Access Timed Entry Permits are required to access all areas of RMNP, excluding destinations along Bear Lake Road, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Timed entry permits are available in 2-hour blocks of time. After making your reservation through Recreation.gov, when you come to Rocky Mountain National Park you must enter the park within the 2-hour window of time that you reserved. For instance, if you reserved a Park Access Timed Entry Permit Reservation for 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., that means that you must initially enter the park anytime between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

If you arrive late, a park ranger will advise you that you have missed your reservation window and you will be asked to come back after 2 p.m.
