Shi Shi Beach Trailhead
in
Olympic

Currently closed to the public.

Shi Shi Beach and Point of Arches are among the most picturesque coastal destinations in Olympic - and the most popular! The 8-mile (12.9 km) round-trip trail begins on the Makah Reservation, and continues into Olympic National Park, so you will need two different permits. You can buy a Makah Recreation permit in the town of Neah Bay at Makah Marina, The Museum at the Makah Culture and Research Center, Washburn's General Store, Makah Mini Mart, Makah Tribal Cetner, or Hobuck Beach Resort.

To plan your backpacking trip to Shi Shi, contact the Olympic National Park Wilderness Information Center.. When hiking the coast, remember to be aware of tides! Certain routes will become impassible at high tide. Know your route and consult your tide table.
