Lassen Peak is a monument to the area’s natural history and humankind’s adventurous spirit. At 10,457 feet high, it’s one of the world’s largest plug dome volcanoes. Its 1914-1917 eruptions were a driving force behind the establishment of Lassen Volcanic National Park.
The parking area offers a perfect spot to capture a photo with Lassen Peak. The Lassen Peak Trail also begins here.
Patches of snow can linger here well into the summer months. Or, all year long in years with above average winter snowpack. Sleds and other snow equipment are welcome on the snow, however long it lasts.
