Emerald Lake
in
Lassen Volcanic

This roadside lake gets its green color from vegetation that grows in its shallow waters. Parking is limited here, but there is usually a spot open long enough for a quick peek at this colorful spot. Wildflowers thrive on its rocky shores. Help these fragile plants survive by not walking or placing gear on them. The tip of Lassen Peak is visible from certain angles of the lake. There are no fish in the lake, although at one time, park staffed stocked the lake which served as a roadside aquarium.
