Hike through Black Rock Canyon to the summit of Warren Peak for stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. This hike is 6.3 miles (round trip) with 1100 feet of elevation gain. From the Black Rock Backcountry Trailhead, hike on the Black Rock Canyon/Panorama Loop Trail to the spur trail leading to Warren Peak.
As you begin the hike through a wash with a gentle gradient, you’ll be surrounded by Joshua trees, Mojave yuccas, goldenbush, and desert shrubs. As you gain elevation and the trail steepens towards the summit, you’ll see pinyon pines and juniper bushes and experience incredible views of the area. This trail is great for those looking for panoramic landscape views, wildflowers in the springtime, and a trail in a less busy area.
There are multiple options for parking. Park at the Black Rock Backcountry Trailhead or park at the Black Rock Nature Center and start the trail near campsite 30. On busy days, there is additional overflow parking in the horse camp area.
