Two Deserts (Silver Bell)
in
Joshua Tree
Look up near the top of the rocky hills visible from the pullout. Spot the remains of Silver Bell Mine, one of 300 mines once active in Joshua Tree National Park. The surrounding landscape contains creosote, desert lavender, bladderpod, and other shrubs. This section of the park is part of the transition zone between the Mojave and Colorado Deserts.
