Hidden Falls
in
Grand Teton

Hidden Falls engages all your senses - the 230 foot (70 m) cascade fills your view, the thundering water drowns out speech, the spray chills your skin, and the air smells crisp and clean. As the name suggests, these falls are truly hidden. You will not seem them until you are less than 100 yards from the viewpoint! During peak run-off, the water ricochets off the outcrops, but even late in the summer, the water is still forceful. Snowmelt feeds Cascade Creek by flowing into the channel and by soaking into the ground and rising back up into the creek.

Some hikers circle around the north or south end of Jenny Lake to reach the west shore. Others take advantage of the Jenny Lake Shuttle Boat (fee charged) and shorten the hike by roughly 2 miles each way. From the west boat dock, the first half mile leads you to Hidden Falls. The second half mile climbs more steeply to Inspiration Point.
