This is one of the busiest shuttle stops in the park, located on the west end of the Village Historic District.
This shuttle stop provides access to:
- Hermit Road (Red) Route Shuttle Transfer Station is the look-alike shuttle bus stop on the other side of the barricade. Note: From March 1, through November 30, Hermit Road can only be accessed by the free Hermit Road (Red) Route shuttle bus, on foot, bicycle, or by commercial tour.
- Canyon Rim Trail to Hermits Rest - walk west, past the look-alike shuttle bus stop on the other side of the barricade. Several steps lead down from the bus stop to a paved footpath along the rim of the canyon.
- Walk up the hill directly behind this Village (Blue) Route shuttle stop to Bright Angel Trailhead (restrooms, water filling station) and Kolb Studio.
- Continue walking east through the entire Village Historic District along the Canyon Rim Trail.
Village (Blue) Route - Spring Schedule
March 1, through May 24, 2024
50 minutes round trip (without getting off the bus)
First bus is at 7 am, and the last bus is 9 pm
- 7:00 am to 10:30 am (every 15 minutes)
- 10:30 am to 7:30 pm (every 10 minutes)
- 7:30 PM to 9:00 pm (every 20 minutes)
- Visitors dining in Grand Canyon Village need to be at a bus stop no later than 8:30 pm
Route Information
The Village (Blue) Route is a shuttle bus loop that takes approximately 50 minutes to return to the same location. From Hermit Road Transfer shuttle stop, the bus heads east, making stops at the following locations:

- Backcountry Information Center
- Center Road
- Village East
- Shrine of the Ages (Eastbound)
- Mather Campground
- Trailer Village
- Market Plaza (Eastbound)
- Grand Canyon Visitor Center
- Market Plaza (Westbound)

Shuttle Bus Rules
- No eating or open drink containers.

No pets allowed on shuttle buses. Service dogs are permitted (as defined by the Americans With Disabilities Act).

Shuttle buses are equipped with ramps and space to carry passengers in wheelchairs. Please note that wheelchairs larger than 30 inches wide by 48 inches long (76 cm x 122 cm) cannot be accommodated on shuttle buses, and most motorized scooters will not fit.

Collapse strollers before entering the shuttle bus. No oversized or jogging strollers. Remove baby-back carriers when seated.

Shuttle buses can accommodate two or three bicycles, but not tag alongs, baby trailers, or children's bicycles with wheels less than 16 inches (41 cm). Riders must load and unload their bicycles from the front-facing rack.
- Shuttle buses only stop at designated bus stops.
