The Two Medicine Road closes to vehicles in winter but remains open to snowshoeing and cross-country skiing and visitors can park their car at the gate closure. Snow deposition is strongly influenced by the wind and open areas may be blown free of snow any time during winter.
Start snowshoeing or skiing at the end of the plowed road near the junction of Highway 49 and the Two Medicine Road. Popular destinations include:
-
The park boundary, 6 miles roundtrip
-
Running Eagle Falls, 10 miles roundtrip
-
Two Medicine Lake, a strenuous and hilly 16-mile roundtrip
