Alligator Creek Campsite
in
Everglades

Located on marl prairie, along a canal section of Alligator Creek, about 100 feet from Garfield Bight. Campers at this remote and rarely-visited site will likely be gloriously alone, except for the crocodilians who often sun themselves at the landing. Mosquitoes can be abundant all year round.

Access - Accessible at all tides via the West Lake Canoe Trail (motors prohibited past West Lake). Florida Bay access limited: Garfield Bight is too shallow during strong North winds or low tide. Motors are allowed on the Florida Bay route. Foot trails are overgrown and not recommended. Ask for a map of Flamingo Area Canoe Trails if traveling on the West lake Canoe Trail. Obtain local knowledge from rangers for Florida Bay Route.
