Stop at this viewpoint and stand at the foot of the Chisos Mountains. Enjoy good views of Green Gulch and the surrounding sotol grasslands. Nearby, an arroyo, or dry wash, acts like a wildlife highway. Keep an eye out for scat or prints; signs of their noctural travels. From here, the road climbs 2,000 feet, winding up into the Chisos Basin.
The Chisos Basin Road is not recommended for trailers longer than 20 feet and RVs over 24 feet due to the sharp curves and steep grades.
